My Makeup Bag: Products I'm loving right now.

Over the past year or so, I've been moving away from the drugstore basics when it comes to make-up (though I still love me some Cover Girl). I always love trying out fresh new makeup, but I've found some favorites along the way that will certainly stay in the rotation long-term. The best part is a handful of the are available on my beloved amazon.

L Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream
I was given this as a gift and now can't get enough of it! It smells so nice. I'm generally not a fan of floral scents, but this one is very subtle. It makes my hands feel so smooth without feeling greasy. Perfect size for your purse!

Coastal Scents Winterberry Palette
My first introduction to Coastal Scents was a Birchbox sample size. I didn't particularly like the colors that I received in the sample, but I loved the texture of the powders and the subtle shimmer. I found this palette on amazon that was more suited to my coloring.  The powder goes on very subtle and muted on naked lids and is bolder over a primer. Very versatile. You can also order colors individually on coastalscents.com and design your own color palette!

Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara
Another Birchbox discovery. I was excited to try this one out because I love experimenting with different mascaras. Also, I had splurged at Sephora for a Smashbox foundation for my wedding day and was thrilled with it. Their mascara did not dissappoint. The brush is great and the mascara doesn't smudge easily. One of my favs for sure.

stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
I kept hearing so many good things about stila liquid liner, but I'm not the kind of gal to spend $20 on eyeliner... until my sister let me try hers one time and I was hooked. It makes doing winged eyeliner so much easier. And it lasts a long time. Worth it.

Cynthia Rowley Silver Eye Pencil
This is a fun one to layer with black liner or use on the inner corners of your eyes. Birchbox sent me the silver, which I've had fun with. Something a little different!

Michael Todd True Organics Citrus Cream Moisturizer
Yet another Birchbox discovery (noticing a pattern here? Birchboxes are awesome. Monthly makeup subscription boxes!) This moisutrizer is so airy and non-greasy. The citrus scent feels energizing and fresh! My sample size is almost out and I may have to splurge on a full-size...

Tokyo Milk | Le Petit No. 2
I first discovered this scent at bloom (one of my favorite boutiques owned my a friend of mine). It smells amazing -- not too strong or too sweet. I get lots of compliments on it. I try to pick up a bottle whenever I have a chance to stop by bloom because I love supporting local businesses, but I go through it so quickly I'll sometimes resort to amazon because I'm a sucker for free 2-day shipping.

My MIL bought this for me. I'm in love. I hate being introduced to luxury items because then nothing else compares. This stuff always dries smooth and doesn't chip as easily as most nail polishes have in my experience. This color is my perfect shade of red.

The Balm  |  Cabana Boy Blush
I adore the The Balm's packaging, and I confess that's what first drew me to their product line...  but their powders are really nice and the prices are pretty affordable as far as non-drug-store cosmetics go. And they're cute.

The Balm  |  Sexy Mama Translucent Powder
Another cutie from The Balm. This is perfect for setting foundation and blending eye makeup. I use this every day. (Even on days I say I'm not wearing any makeup. Shh.)

Chanel ROUGE COCO SHINE Hydrating SheerLipshine 84 Dialogue
Red Chanel lipstick. Classic. Need I say more?
